Community asked to paint at city's newest Park "Peacemakers Mural"

Councilmember Robert Garcia, the Department of parks and recreation and the long beach Redevelopment Agency are from a "community paint day" on Saturday, January 29th, 10 am - 2 pm, the new "peacemakers mural," complete latest Park, host has the city Garcia proposed naming "Seaside Park" after the hospital, the long as the Web site at Magnolia and 14th Street.

"This mural presents such an important message," said Councilmember Garcia, who was instrumental in the design and financing of new parks. "Figures like Cesar Chavez and Martin Luther King can serve as inspiration for the community in mind important respect, equality and non-violence."

The Park at the 14th St. and Magnolia has a football field, space, children's playgrounds, walking paths and shade-giving trees a neighborhood which historically to open parks. This is part of Garcia's revitalization initiative for 14th St. corridor and the Washington middle school neighborhood. The revitalization of Michael k. Green Skate Park containing one of the city, largest, at pine and 14th; new Habitat for humanity homes program; Broke ground in this spring new basketball court; and plans for a community garden, dog park, children's playground, football pitches and other improvements to the 14th St. from the Atlantic to Magnolia.
"This neighborhood is growing and changing every day", says Garcia. "With this new parks, new housing and this great art in public space, there are so many changes in our community to be proud."
